TUTORIAL SESSIONS TO BE HELD ON MONDAY, OCTOBER, 8, 2007
The EPQU'07 Tutorial Venue chosen for this occasion is one of the emblematic spaces of the city of Barcelona destined to science. CosmoCaixa Barcelona is the living Science Museum of Barcelona, a dynamic place where there is always something new to discover.
La Caixa is a non lucrative social institution that since its origins has been characterized by a substantial social commitment and resolute working vocation in favour of a general interest, through both its Social Work and its financial activity. La Caixa financial activity has contributed to the social and the economical progress of the country. At the same time, its Social Work finances and promotes social, educational, cultural and scientific activities.
Tutorial sessions are going to be carried out in Rooms Beta, Gamma and Library. All rooms will be conveniently indicated at the building's main entrance.
LOCATION
CosmoCaixa Barcelona is located in the Northwest part of the city and next to the Ronda de Dalt road. There are accesses to the Science Museum from Cister Str and Tibidabo Avenue and by Quatre Camins Str, 89.

HOW TO ARRIVE
CosmoCaixa Barcelona is within easy access from the centre of the city. By train take the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) and stop at Avinguda del Tibidabo Station. Public bus lines 17, 22, 58, 73, 75, 60 and 196. By car take the Ronda de Dalt road, exits 6 and 7.
COSMOCAIXA. SCIENCE MUSEUM
The Science Museum is situated in a vast space of 47.600 m2. As a main vertebrating room we find the Matter Room which comprehends four thematic sections:
- The Inert Matter section interprets matter, energy, space, time and the laws of nature.
- The Living Matter section deals with the mysteries of life.
- The Intelligent Matter section presents the origin and impact of nerve cells in living organisms.
- Finally, we have the Civilised Matter which deals with hominids from bipedalism to self-awareness.
Besides, the Science Museum offers other spaces to discover such as the Geological Wall , a 90 tonne rock, the only Rain Forest replica in Europe, the Planetarium and interesting activities for children to experience science by themselves such as the Clik and Flash, the Bubble Planetarium and the Touch Touch activity where people of all ages can have a direct contact with the worldīs flora and fauna diversity.
